A birth chart is a sky map
A birth chart, also called a natal chart, maps the sky at the moment and place you were born. It is built from birth date, birth time, and birth location. The chart does not work like a fixed prediction. It works better as symbolic language for personality patterns, emotional needs, relationship style, timing sensitivity, and growth themes.
Planets show what is active
Planets describe the core functions in the chart. The Sun points to identity and vitality. The Moon describes emotional needs. Mercury shows thinking and communication. Venus relates to attraction and values. Mars shows action and desire. The rest of the planets add themes such as growth, discipline, change, intuition, and transformation.
Signs show how it expresses
The zodiac sign attached to a planet describes style. Mars in Aries acts directly, while Mars in Taurus moves more steadily. The planet is the function, and the sign is the tone that function uses.
Houses show where life is involved
The twelve houses divide the chart into life areas: self, resources, communication, home, creativity, routine, partnership, shared depth, meaning, career, community, and inner life. Accurate houses depend on birth time and location, which is why a precise birth time matters.
Aspects show relationships between planets
Aspects are angles between planets. They show whether two parts of the chart cooperate, create tension, repeat a pattern, or ask for integration. A useful report reads planets, signs, houses, and aspects together instead of isolating one symbol.
